Tom Brady Reveals Rare Glimpse Inside $17 Million ‘Billionaire Bunker’ Mansion—as He Lays Bare True Toll of Gisele Bundchen Divorce

by Charlie Lankston

NFL legend Tom Brady has offered an inside look at his extraordinary $150 million mansion on Miami's infamous "Billionaire Bunker," while opening up in a new interview about how his divorce from supermodel Gisele Bündchen impacted his final season as a professional football player.

Brady, 48, purchased his property on Indian Creek Island—known to many as "Billionaire Bunker" because of its ultra wealthy residents—for $17 million in 2020, when he was still married to Bündchen.

The former football pro joined the likes of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos, and billionaire Jeffrey Soffer in choosing the exclusive enclave as his home base—and promptly followed in the footsteps of his neighbors by building a dream dwelling on his parcel.

He immediately began working on an extensive renovation of the existing property, essentially demolishing the existing structure to make way for a modern dwelling that took around four years to complete.

But what began as a marital home has since become a very spacious and lavish bachelor pad for Brady after he and Bündchen divorced in October 2022, with the former football pro taking the Indian Creek Island property as part of their settlement.

Now, Brady has shed some light on his emotional struggle during that time, speaking out about his divorce in an appearance on "The Herd" with host Colin Cowherd.

Speaking about the timing of his split from the fashion superstar, who has since gone on to wed jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, with whom she shares a child, the sporting icon admitted that it had a rough impact on his final season in the NFL, which he played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"My last season was tough," he confessed. "I was going through, I had a lot of, you know, just a personal family issue. And it was a challenge and it was very. … It just took a lot out of me in terms of my ability to play."

Brady made the decision to retire "for good" in 2023—one year after he initially announced he was stepping down as a professional athlete, before quickly U-turning and signing up for another season with the Buccaneers.

He told Cowherd that he had always wanted to make it to the age of 45, noting that, when he did officially end his NFL career, he felt it was the ideal time to do so, leaving him with nothing left to prove.

"I had 23 years of [football] so I didn’t think I was missing anything, retiring. I felt like this is time," he shared. "I always had a goal—45. I was 45 years old, I wanted to spend time with my kids, I felt like, OK, now it’s time for me to be at all my kids’ games. They’ve been to enough of their dad’s games."

Brady, who shares two children—Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13—with Bündchen, and one son, Jack, with his ex-partner Bridget Moynahan, has not walked away from the sport altogether, however, instead transferring his skills from the field to the commentator box.

In 2022, the "G.O.A.T." of football signed a 10-year contract with Fox Sports that is worth a staggering $375 million and now sees him offering his expert observations from the sidelines of NFL games as the network's "color analyst."

As a result, Brady has had little time to kick back and relax at his palatial Miami property, instead traveling across the country to be on the ground when the biggest NFL action is taking place.

Combined with his personal travels—which included a recent New Year's trip to St. Barths, where he was seen getting cozy with influencer Alix Earle—the football pro has scarcely been able to break in his newly built dwelling.

However, he appeared to be enjoying a rare moment in the comfort of his own home during his interview with Cowherd, joining the video chat from a perch in his enormous kitchen and, in the process, offering up a glimpse inside the incredible space.

Brady was almost overshadowed by the ultramodern space, which features an enormous island at its center, huge windows that fill the space with Miami sunlight, and two large ovens.

The aesthetic of the space is very minimal, with neutral tones found throughout the room, including pale wood cupboards and drawers, sleek metal-and-glass shelves, and pale oak floors.

A professional-grade fridge can be seen just behind Brady's shoulder—and at one point, a staff member can be seen entering the frame to turn on one of the stoves, perhaps in preparation to cook a meal for the sports legend, who is known to follow a very strict diet.

Brady seems very much at home in the space, despite rumors emerging one year ago that he was actually "looking to sell" the dwelling, with reports suggesting that he was quietly shopping the property around for the sky-high price of $150 million.

Bloomberg said in January 2025 that Brady was "weighing the sale" of the home, reporting he has "already received bids valuing it" at more than eight times the price he paid in 2020.

But instead, the football pro has invested further in the future of the property, taking out a staggering $35 million loan against the home in July 2024, which he is understood to have used to pay off a previous construction loan of the same amount, which he secured to fund his renovations.

The Real Deal reported that the new loan offers much more agreeable terms, giving Brady the opportunity to pay off the money at a much lower interest rate over a longer period of time.

Property records show that he also transferred ownership of the dwelling in December, moving it from the LLC he used to buy it into a trust that is managed by Brian Blanchard, a managing director at SCS Financial Services, a wealth management firm that Brady has worked with for years.

While Brady has maintained a fierce wall of privacy around his abode, he has previously shared a small glimpse into his beautiful backyard, revealing several photos of the space on his social media.

One of the images, which were shared in 2024, captured a beautiful exterior look at the dwelling, while the other offered a glimpse at the incredible views he enjoys from his waterfront location.

In one image of the home itself, which he shared in November of that year, the angular modern structure could be seen reflecting the sun’s pink rays, turning coral in the light.

Meanwhile, a second photo, which was taken at sunrise, showed Brady’s view of Biscayne Bay from the backyard of his home.

Another image shared in September 2024 featured a beautiful sunset view of his pool, as well as the modern cabana-style structure that sits at one end of it, offering shade from the blazing Miami sun and a place for Brady to relax with friends.

In March of that year, he shared a snap of his shimmering pool, captioning the photo: “Home is where the heart is.”

The zero-entry pool was surrounded by lounge chairs, sun umbrellas, and a firepit—all set about a gray stone patio. The sleek, white building behind him offered a glimpse of his enormous contemporary mansion, a design marvel.
