Spirit Airlines HQ sells at auction for under half of its $200M construction cost
South Florida’s deep roots in aviation sprouted two high-profile real estate deals this week. An affiliate of Boston-based Hill City Capital placed the winning bid of $93.3 million for the vacant Spirit Airlines headquarters in Boca Raton, the Miami Herald reported. That’s less than half of its 2024 construction cost. And publicly traded aviation leasing and services company Willis Lease Finance Corp. bought a three-building headquarters campus that’s under development in Coconut Creek, the South Florida Business Journal reported, citing a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
