Christina Haack Praises Boyfriend Chris Larocca for Sticking by Her Side After ‘Losing My Mind’ During ‘The Flip Off’ Filming

by Isabella Bernabeo

HGTV star Christina Haack has shared an intimate glimpse into how supported her boyfriend Chris Larocca makes her feel during a stressful week of "The Flip Off" filming.

On Aug. 8, Haack, 43, opened up about her anxiety-ridden week in an Instagram post.

“I have been really stressed and totally losing my mind this week and he somehow still loves me,” Haack wrote in the caption.

The image showed the couple sweetly smiling and leaning their heads towards each other as Haack wrapped her arm around Larocca’s shoulders. While Haack didn’t directly reveal what had caused the stressful week, Larocca, 53, provided some further context in the comment section.

“‘The Flip Off’ stress is definitely real, but I always have your back. You’re amazing and I can’t wait for everyone to see your work this season!” he wrote.

Haack is currently in the midst of filming the second season of the hit HGTV show, where Haack, her ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, competitively flip houses.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight in March, Haack hinted that Larocca “will be involved a little bit” in the show, meaning he has likely been witnessing firsthand all of the stress and setbacks that often come with flipping and renovating houses on TV.

Larocca had previously made a brief cameo appearance in season 1 of the series.

In June, it was revealed that the four share a group chat they’ve jokingly titled, “Double Trouble.”

Larocca and El Moussa, 44, have even spent “boys nights” together, confirming that Haack and El Moussa have become increasingly close in recent years after their initial struggles to find common ground in the wake of their 2016 split.

“My boyfriend and Heather's husband having a boys night 'offline' wasn't on my bingo card,” Haack joked in an Instagram story.

The text overlaid a screenshot of the “Double Trouble” group chat where a photo sent by Larocca showed himself and El Moussa happily playing pool together at a bar. Haack and Heather, 38, who wed El Moussa in 2021, have also formed a close bond, echoing their respective partners.

When Haack and El Moussa teamed up for “The Flip Off,” the two had opened up about how their relationship has evolved over the years, admitting that, while they "went through a lot of stuff," they are now in "a good place."

More recently, Haack and Larocca have been spotted on a “staycation” with Haack’s three children at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Southern California enjoying the summer heat.

Haack shares her daughter Taylor, 15, and son Brayden, 10, with El Moussa. She also has a second son, Hudson, 6, with her second ex-husband, Ant Anstead.

Haack and Larocca began dating in October 2024; however, the two had actually met long before entering into a romantic relationship.

“We met the old-fashioned way. We met at a restaurant in Newport Beach,” Haack told PEOPLE. “I was there with a girlfriend. He was there with some guy friends. One of his friends started talking to us and he was super funny. They were all funny.”

While season two of “The Flip Off” is scheduled to premiere in 2026, an exact release date has not yet been announced. In the meantime, Haack has been busy with her own personal real estate endeavors.

In June, Haack had abruptly pulled her sprawling Tennessee farmhouse–less than two weeks after she had listed the adobe for rent at $20,000 a month or for sale with an asking price of $5.3 million.

The listings of the expansive dwelling, dubbed Parker Branch, came just over a year after Haack claimed full ownership of the property, following a bitter divorce battle between her third husband and renovation expert Josh Hall.

Hall, 45, had originally moved into the home after the couple split–attempting to block Haack from selling the property when she listed the property for sale in October 2024. The home was taken off the market just three weeks later, when it was revealed that Hall filed a temporary emergency order claiming that the property was put up for sale without his consent.

Hall insisted that even though Haack had purchased the farmhouse before the two were married, the “paydown of the mortgage during marriage” entitled him to a say in what happened to it.

In December 2024, the dwelling reappeared on the market with the same asking price of $4.5 million, only to be taken down again in February 2025.

The couple’s divorce was finally settled in August 2025, when Haack agreed to pay Hall an equalization payment of $300,000 in return for full control of their home in Newport Beach, CA, where she lives full time, as well as the Franklin, TN, farmhouse.

Hall kept his own home in Thompson’s Station, TN.

Nearly a year after the couple’s divorce, Haack relisted the six-bedroom, six-bathroom farmhouse with the same agent–her close friend Kelly Doughterty of Onward Real Estate.

Much of the listing remained the same as when the home was first listed. The 5,200-square-foot dwelling was described as a “fabulous modern farmhouse," while its appearance on Haack's HGTV show, "Christina on the Coast," was also mentioned.

The description called attention to the many features in the home, which Haack extensively renovated after buying it for $2.5 million in February 2021.

It remains unclear why Haack pulled the listing.
