Simone Biles Reveals Custom-Built Texas Mansion Still Isn’t Finished—After Two Years of Work
Gymnast Simone Biles and her husband, NFL star Jonathan Owens, are still waiting for work on their custom-built lakefront Texas mansion to be finished—after more than two years of seemingly endless construction.
Biles, 28, revealed on Instagram this week that work is ongoing at the sprawling abode while sharing some photos of the "minor aesthetic adjustments" that are being made to the home.
In the photos, which were posted on her Instagram Stories, several spaces in the property could be seen undergoing some fairly significant work, with scaffolding set up in one living space in front of some custom cabinets and built-ins.
Another snap showed unique wooden panelling on the wall of one room, with a construction worker pictured walking along some protective coverings that have been laid down to guard the wooden flooring from damage.
In her final photo taken inside the home, Biles poked fun at her description of the work as "minor," revealing an entertainment room that features noting but the bare bones, with wires seen sticking out of the walls and protective wooden panels covering the entire floor.

Although the home appears to still require some significant work, the project does seem to be nearing completion. However, it looks as though it will not be finished by the time Owens, 30, kicks off his second season with the Chicago Bears on Sept. 8, when his team will go head-to-head with the Minnesota Vikings at Soldier Field in Illinois.
Fortunately, he and Biles have already established a home base in Chicago, where it's thought they will live for much of the NFL season.
The former Olympian revealed in May that the couple had found themselves a home in the Windy City when she announced on Instagram that they were busy shopping for a car to use while they were residing in Illinois.
"Looking at cars today for our Chicago home," she wrote over an image of the inside of a Porsche showroom.
However, Biles did not share any details about the property—nor did she reveal whether the couple has made the decision to buy a home in Chicago, or whether they are renting for the rest of the season, which is Owens' last contracted year with the Bears.
It is currently unclear whether the football pro plans to try to extend his run with the team, or whether he will enter negotiations with another NFL team in a bid to secure a new contract elsewhere.
And his future is not the only one being speculated about.
Biles—who boasts seven Olympic gold medals—sparked a frenzy of interest in her own sporting career recently when she hinted that she has not yet ruled out a return to gymnastics, or a bid for a place on Team USA for the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.

Speaking to Olympics.com, the athlete—who has competed in three Olympic Games starting in 2016—admitted that she has not decided whether she wants to retire or give herself another shot at Olympic glory before ending her career on the mat for good.
However, she noted that, whenever she chooses to leave gymnastics, she wants to do so on her own terms, rather than being forced to retire at a time that doesn't feel right to her.
"I want it to be my choice when I’m done," she said. "I don’t want the doctors to be like, ‘Hey, you can’t move on.'"
Biles added that, while she hasn't decided whether the 2024 Paris Games were her last, she would be happy to end her career with that performance.
"I’m grateful that if this (Paris) was the end, that I got to choose my ending," she explained.
When asked whether she would return to the sport in the hopes of securing a spot on Team USA for the 2028 Games, Biles conceded that she has left that door open.
"There’s more to it. … We’ll definitely see," she shared.
Fortunately for Biles, her new home is just a short distance from one of the world's premiere gymnastics training facilities—which just so happens to be owned by her parents, Nellie and Ron, who set up the facility in their hometown of Spring, TX, just a couple of years before their daughter made her Olympic debut.
Named the World Champions Centre, the gym is where Biles trained for all three Games she competed in, as well as multiple World and National championships.

Both of her homes in Texas are located within a few miles of the training center, including the property she bought back in 2020, four years after claiming her first Olympic gold.
That dwelling, which Biles has extensively renovated since moving in five years ago, served as a first marital home for the athlete and her husband, and is where they were understood to be living together while they waited for work on their custom property to be completed.
The duo broke ground on their new mansion in early 2023 and have since shared several updates on its progress, with Biles revealing glimpses of the elegant and modern decor, as well as its many impressive amenities, from the lakefront infinity pool to the in-house pet spa.
In October, she revealed that the dwelling was nearing completion, showing off several of the stunning interior decor touches that had been installed, including a dramatic black-and-white marble backsplash in the kitchen and some quirky patterned tiling in the laundry room.
Outside, her images captured the newly built swimming pool, which overlooks the lake and features a lavish spa.
The home has also been shown on the Netflix series “Simone Biles Rising,” which documented her return to the sport after she withdrew from the 2020 Olympics.
In the series, Biles and Owens are seen checking in on progress at their home, with the former admitting it felt "surreal" to see it come to life.
"It's a little surreal to walk through and see just how far it's come," she said. "Last time you guys saw it, it was just bones and a structure."
