Todd and Alexia tied the knot in 2021. In April 2024, Todd filed for divorce and cited their marriage as "irretrievably broken." The former couple then finalized their divorce in March 2025.

Todd and Alexia's purchase of the property comes mere months after Todd dropped a $10 million defamation lawsuit against Bravo, NBCUniversal Media, and production company Purveyors of Pop.

According to his lawsuit, Todd accused the program of deliberately portraying him as financially irresponsible.

“RHOM has continued to intentionally and maliciously air defamatory statements about Mr. Nepola and damage his reputation in the Miami business community,” the October filing read, as per The New York Post.

Todd alleged that his name was used on the series without his permission, as he requested a jury trial.

"The Real Housewives of Miami" followed the former couple through much of their marriage and their divorce.

However, Todd claimed that the depiction of their divorce was a lie.

In the lawsuit, Todd alleged the series "crossed the line between entertainment and defamation."

He also accused producers of enabling "gang-style pile-ons, physical violence, gaslighting and racially charged comments” without interference.

Todd also hit back at the network for falsely depicting his relationship with his stepson, Frankie, 28, who is Alexia's son from her first marriage and has a brain injury.

“The second you dared portray me as someone who doesn’t care about my stepson, you revealed who you really are," he said in a video.

“Mr. Nepola wanted to be Alexia’s husband, not her storyline,” the lawsuit added.

However, in December 2025, he threw out his lawsuit against the network, with prejudice, meaning that he can file the lawsuit again. It is unknown why he dropped the lawsuit.
