One of America’s Biggest Homes Has Asking Price Cut by a Staggering $40 Million

A Beverly Hills, CA, megamansion, which boasts an eye-watering 50,000 square feet with nearly every amenity imaginable, has received an equally shocking price cut: $40 million off its last asking price.

The 6.03-acre luxury compound was built in 2012 and designed by architect Ed Tuttle.

Perched on a promontory and offering unobstructed views spanning from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean, the sprawling property known as The Angelo Estate originally hit the market for an astonishing $195 million asking price in October 2024.

In April 2025, it was reduced by $20 million to $175 million, and is now being offered for an even further reduced $135 million asking price.

The massive peninsula estate is owned by billionaire Tony Pritzker, brother of Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, chairman and CEO of Pritzker Private Capital, and an heir to the Hyatt Hotels fortune, who lived here with his now ex-wife, philanthropist Jeanne Pritzker, and their six children.

After years of customizing the house, the former couple completed it in 2011. More than a decade later, the high-profile pair separated and were embroiled in a bitter divorce with this house at the center of the feud.

Jeanne wanted to live in the home that she used for philanthropic events while Tony wanted to sell the property after purchasing a $19.5 million penthouse at Westwood's Beverly West condominium.

According to court documents, she stayed in the residence and Tony moved out, but much to her chagrin, Jeanne was later informed by Tony's lawyers that the house was owned by a combination of trusts and limited liability companies.

Since Jeanne wasn't a beneficiary of the trust that owned the property and did not have legal ownership, she could not live there.

The 16-bedroom mansion with 27 bathrooms and 18 fireplaces was constructed using steel, glass, and limestone and built around an open courtyard with fountains.

Upon entering the "architectural masterpiece," the sprawling floor plan boasts a two-story foyer with dual staircases, a city-facing living room, a dining room designed for grand-scale entertaining, a wood-clad home office with built-ins, and a gourmet chef's kitchen.

With "no expense spared and no detail overlooked," other opulent amenities found throughout the mansion include a great room, home theater, entertainment room, bowling alley, wellness retreat, fitness center, wine cellar, and walls designed to showcase an art collection.

The residence is heated and cooled using geothermal technology and features solar panels and a generator.

A security room, two-bedroom guesthouse, separate guest apartment, a green marble-tiled infinity pool with spa, a lighted tennis court and pavilion, and on-site parking for up to 100 cars can also be found on-site.
