Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Take $52 Million Marital Mansion Off the Market Again Amid Desperate Struggle to Sell Enormous Estate

by Kelsi Karruli

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have once again taken their $52 million Beverly Hills marital mansion off the market—months after they attempted to lure in a buyer with an $8 million price cut.

Lopez, 56, and Affleck, 53, purchased the extraordinary property for $60.9 million in May 2023, less than a year after they wed, and quickly set about renovating the estate, reportedly spending millions more to turn it into their dream marital sanctuary.

However, just over one year later, the couple had put the property back on the market with an asking price of $68 million, and soon after, it was revealed that they had split.

Their divorce was finalized in January 2025, with the duo agreeing to split any profits from the sale of their former marital home. However, they faced a desperate struggle to find a buyer for the lavish dwelling—and, just two months after reducing their asking price to $59.9 million in May of that same year, they removed the home from the market altogether.

In September, the exes—who tied the knot in July 2022—tried their luck offloading the opulent abode again, listing it for $52 million in the hopes that a large price cut would help secure a buyer.

But it appears that they have once again decided to put their efforts on hold, with records showing that the listing has been deactivated for a second time.

The home was swiped off the market on Jan. 26, as first reported by TMZ.

Lopez and Affleck's former marital abode certainly has plenty on offer to draw in a wealthy buyer seeking the epitome of luxury; it features a wide range of custom amenities, including an indoor sports complex, complete with basketball and pickleball courts, a fully equipped gym, a boxing ring, a sports lounge, and a bar.

As for its more "traditional" features, the home boasts a staggering 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms that are dotted around its vast 38,000-square-foot interior. The estate sits on a plum 5.2-acre lot in the Beverly Crest community.

The listing describes the abode as a serene spot where "timeless elegance and modern convenience blend seamlessly in the heart of Beverly Hills."

Though these high-end features may make the property incredibly appealing to any wealthy buyer, there are several rather pricey considerations to take into account—including the sky-high monthly cost of maintaining the home, which Realtor.com® estimated to be around $284,000 as of September 2024, including the former couple's mortgage payments.

The property is also subject to Los Angeles' mansion tax, which would see them lose even more money in a sale.

“The house is located in the Beverly Hills post office area, which is technically in the city of Los Angeles (not the independent city of Beverly Hills), so the mansion tax applies,” celebrity real estate agent Jason Oppenheim previously revealed to Realtor.com.

“Therefore, they will have to pay a mansion tax of more than $3 million. So they could lose more than an additional $5 million after commissions, taxes, etc."

Oppenheim also previously offered up his suggestions as to why the home has struggled to find a buyer, despite its impressive design and Hollywood pedigree.

In October 2024, he explained that it was always going to be difficult for the duo to land a deal, largely because the pool of potential candidates is so small.

A property of such high value—with its separate 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, caretaker house, two-bedroom guardhouse, 12-car garage, and parking for 80 vehicles—has a considerably lower buyer pool, because most people simply cannot afford it.

"Most homes of this magnitude are on the market for six months, and in many cases significantly longer," he shared.

Oppenheim also predicted that the duo would take a loss on the home: "It's likely they will sell the house in the $58 million to $60 million range, thus they could lose several million dollars on the sale."

As of Sept. 12, Lopez was believed to be using the home as her primary residence while work on her new property was carried out.

In September, the actress and singer took to her Instagram to share snaps of herself getting ready for different red carpet events inside the enormous abode.

Lopez has not commented on her currently living situation—however, one source claimed to the Daily Mail that the songstress is making use of the Beverly Hills megamansion while her new abode, which is located in Hidden Hills, undergoes renovations.

"Jennifer is staying [at her and Ben's former home] because she still owns it, so why not? Also, her new house in Hidden Hills is undergoing renovations so it would not be comfortable to move in yet," the insider said.

Lopez's new home is a five-bedroom, eight-bathroom abode, which was described in its listing as "exuding sophistication," offering the perfect mix between "the best of New England charm" and "relaxed California informality."

Property records reveal that Lopez purchased the 2-acre dwelling via a trust that is linked to her business manager, having reportedly been searching for her ideal new home since April 2024, when rumors about a rift in her marriage first began to circulate.

The property spans more than 8,600 square feet and is made up of a main residence, guesthouse, pool house, and a five-stall barn complete with a tack room and a private equestrian arena.

Inside the main home there are five en suite bedrooms, including a "sumptuous master suite," which boasts dual walk-in closets, a wet bar, a private balcony, and an incredible bathroom worthy of a five-star resort that boasts a steam shower and an enormous bathtub.

Affleck has long since moved on from the home, reportedly purchasing a $20.5 million Pacific Palisades bachelor pad in July 2024.
