Jennifer Lopez Reveals She’s Still Living at $60 Million Mansion She Bought With Ben Affleck—Despite Buying New $17.5 Million Estate

Pop star Jennifer Lopez may well have walked away from her marriage to Ben Affleck for good—but there's one piece of their failed relationship that she seems very reluctant to let go of: the former couple's lavish $60 million Beverly Hills mansion.

Images posted by the actress and singer on her Instagram within the last week show her happily getting ready for different red carpet events inside the enormous abode, which was taken off the market in July after Lopez, 56, and Affleck, 53, spent a year trying to sell it.

The duo purchased the extraordinary property for $60.9 million in May 2023, less than a year after they wed, and they quickly set about renovating the estate, reportedly spending millions more to turn it into their dream marital sanctuary.

However, just over one year later, the couple had put the property back on the market—this time with an asking price of $68 million, and soon after, it was revealed that they had split.

Their divorce was finalized in January of this year, with the duo agreeing to split any profits from the sale of their former marital home. However, they have faced a steep uphill battle trying to find a buyer for the expansive mansion—and, just two months after slashing their asking price to $59.9 million in May, they removed the home from the market altogether.

Now, Lopez has hinted at why they decided to delist their estate, revealing in her social media posts that she is still very much at home in the property, despite buying her own personal Hidden Hills sanctuary for $17.5 million back in February.

Images posted by the starlet as recently as Sept. 11 show her making full use of the decadent dwelling, happily showing off a red carpet look inside her opulent dressing room at the property.

Another set of photos shared on Sept. 5 feature J. Lo flaunting another event look inside the elegantly decorated living room of the home.

The same distinctive lighting fixtures that featured in the property's listing photos can be seen behind the mother of two as she twirls for the camera.

Lopez has not commented on her currently living situation—however one source claimed to the Daily Mail that the songstress is making use of the Beverly Hills megamansion while her new abode, which is located in Hidden Hills, undergoes renovations.

"Jennifer is staying [at her and Ben's former home] because she still owns it, so why not? Also, her new house in Hidden Hills is undergoing renovations so it would not be comfortable to move in yet," the insider said.

It remains unclear when—or if—Lopez and Affleck will make another attempt to sell the property; however, sources told TMZ that the latter was extremely eager to offload the home, with one insider alleging that the "Batman" actor had been the driving force behind the price drop.

Affleck has long since moved on from the home, reportedly purchasing a $20.5 million Pacific Palisades bachelor pad in July 2024.

Still, it would be hard to match the extraordinary level of luxury that he and Lopez enjoyed in their Beverly Hills estate, which features a wide range of custom amenities, including an indoor sports complex, complete with basketball and pickleball courts, a fully equipped gym, a boxing ring, a sports lounge, and a bar.

As for its more "traditional" features, the home boasts a staggering 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms that are dotted around its vast 38,000-square-foot interior. The estate sits on a plum 5.2-acre lot in the Beverly Crest community.

Though these high-end features may make the property incredibly appealing to any wealthy buyer, there are several rather pricey considerations to take into account—including the sky-high monthly cost of maintaining the home, which Realtor.com® estimated to be around $284,000 as of September 2024, including the former couple's mortgage payments.

The property is also subject to Los Angeles' mansion tax, which would see them losing even more money in a sale.

“The house is located in the Beverly Hills post office area, which is technically in the city of Los Angeles (not the independent city of Beverly Hills), so the mansion tax applies,” celebrity real estate agent Jason Oppenheim previously revealed to Realtor.com.

“Therefore, they will have to pay a mansion tax of more than $3 million. So they could lose more than an additional $5 million after commissions, taxes, etc."

Set on 5 acres, the property include a pool, fire pit, and multiple seating areas. (Realtor.com)

Oppenheim also previously offered up his suggestions as to why the home has struggled to find a buyer, despite its impressive design and Hollywood pedigree.

In October 2024, he explained that it was always going to be difficult for the duo to land a deal, largely because the pool of potential candidates is so small.

A property of such high value—with its separate 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, caretaker house, two-bedroom guardhouse, 12-car garage, and parking for 80 vehicles—has a considerably lower buyer pool, because most people simply cannot afford it.

"Most homes of this magnitude are on the market for six months, and in many cases significantly longer," he shared.

Oppenheim also predicted that the duo would take a loss on the home: "It's likely they will sell the house in the $58 million to $60 million range, thus they could lose several million dollars on the sale."

Though Lopez appears to be content to continue using the home as her primary residence while work on her new dwelling is carried out, she has also taken time to visit one of the other abodes in her impressive real estate portfolio: a picturesque Hamptons mansion that she snapped up in 2013, long before she and Affleck tied the knot.

The singer shared several images of herself soaking up the sunshine outside the pretty Water Mill property at the end of August, while also posting a photo of herself and her 17-year-old child, Emme, going for a drive alongside Lopez's longtime vocal coach, Steve Mackey.
