If the Chicago Bears Lose Against L.A. Rams, Will Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens Finally Get To Move Into Custom Texas Mansion?

by Charlie Lankston

Simone Biles has embraced the role of Chicago Bears WAG with gusto in the months since she competed in her last Olympic Games—but today could see that period of her life come to a swift close if her husband, Jonathan Owens, and his team lose to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL playoffs.

Biles, 28, and her 30-year-old spouse have spent the past two years splitting their time between the Windy City, where Owens has played since 2024, and Texas, where they spent five years constructing their dream marital abode on a lakefront parcel in Spring.

That lifestyle has led to an awful lot of travel, particularly for Biles, who has documented herself bouncing between the couple's Illinois abode and their palatial lake house, which was only completed in November.

But the couple had little time to celebrate the end of their very lengthy build, with Biles sharing photos of herself on the sidelines of the Bears' game against the New York Giants mere days after she documented her final walk-through of their new home.

However, the traversing from one abode to the other could soon come to an end—should the Bears fall to Super Bowl favorites the Rams in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

According to the experts, while the Bears still stand a chance of claiming victory in the matchup, the majority of the money is on the Rams, who—led by quarterback Matthew Stafford—are believed to be one of the strongest contenders to make it to this year's championship final, according to NFL.com.

For Owens, his team's exit from the NFL playoffs could also herald the end of his time in Chicago, with his two-year contract set to expire when the season draws to a close.

After that contract ends, all signs point to his becoming a free agent, meaning he will be open to signing with any team that makes him an offer.

Until that time, however, Biles and Owens will get the opportunity to enjoy what is undoubtedly a much-needed break from the hectic NFL schedule, which has seen the Bears playing almost every weekend since the middle of August.

They may even get the chance to settle into their new Texas home, which sits in a tony neighborhood called Benders Landing Estates—and which took the couple more than five years to build.

The couple are understood to have purchased the plot of land on the edge of a human-made lake in 2020, when they began designing what has become an incredibly opulent dwelling.

However, that process would end up being just the start of a very long journey, according to Biles, who previously opened up about her first homebuilding experience on her Instagram, joking that she felt she had been "lied" to by the experts who promised it would take just nine months.

"Home building requires a lot of patience," she wrote in her November post, while sharing a video of herself and Owens that was taken when only the framework of the home had been built.

"Started the design process in 2020 and took a year to complete," she said of the first step they took in their homebuilding journey.

"Approvals took a while from [the] HOA; broke ground in Feb 2022; completed 11/11/25," she added.

Biles noted that their wait for their dream home was made all the more painful by the fact that they had been given a much earlier estimated completion date.

"They lied when they said nine months to build!" she said.

Still, the gold medalist was quick to voice her pride at having finally finished the mansion, writing: "Anyways proud of us. ILYSM @jowens."

A great deal changed in the couple's life after they broke ground on their home—with Biles going on to compete in her third Olympics two years after construction began, which some believe may well have been her final Games appearance.

She and Owens also tied the knot during that time, marrying first in an April 2023 courthouse ceremony in Texas, before going on to host a lavish celebration with their loved ones in Mexico the following month.

Owens has also made some major moves in his NFL career. When construction on the property began, he was in his final season with the Texans before signing with the Packers for the 2023 season.

He spent just one year with the Wisconsin-based team before signing a two-year contract with the Bears.

In addition to their new custom mansion, the couple also own another abode in Texas—a Spring property that Biles purchased in 2020, four years after claiming her first Olympic gold.

That dwelling, which Biles has extensively renovated since moving in five years ago, served as a first marital home for the athlete and her husband. It is where they were understood to be living together while they waited for work on their custom property to be completed.

It is currently unclear whether the duo plans to put their former abode on the market now that their custom property is finally complete. However, records show that it remains unlisted at the time of writing.

Adding to their impressive property juggle is their Chicago residence, where they recently spent the holidays together in between two Bears games—and where Biles revealed they were settling down for the duration of the NFL season in an Instagram post in May.

In a post shared on her Instagram Stories, Biles revealed that they were busy shopping for new cars for their Chicago dwelling, although she revealed no other details about the property itself. It is also not known whether the duo purchased a property in the Windy City or if they chose to rent instead.

What is clear, however, is that they will have at least a few months to figure out their various real estate commitments, whether or not the Bears make it to the Super Bowl.

NFL players traditionally have several months of downtime in between seasons, starting with their team's exit from the previous year's competition and ending in or around July, when training camps traditionally commence.

This gives Biles and Owens ample opportunity to settle into and enjoy their lavish new Texas home, which has been outfitted with all manner of extraordinary amenities, according to posts shared by the Biles online.

In one post, Biles proudly showed off the couple's laundry room, where she revealed they have installed two sets of washing machines and dryers, so that she and Owens can do their laundry at the same time without hogging the appliances.

"Since Jonathan always wants to do laundry the exact same day as me," Biles wrote in the caption. "Now [there is] one set for each of us."

Among the home's other unique amenities is a custom-built room for the couple's dogs, which Biles revealed she decked out in the same black-and-white tile that they used on their lakefront swimming pool.

The space features a pet spa area, as well as a built-in area for the dogs' bowls, which was already being put to use by the gymnast.

Outside, the dwelling also boasts an in-ground trampoline and a sports court.
