Gothic-Inspired ‘Fairytale Castle’ in Miami’s Exclusive Coconut Grove Hits the Market for $24 Million
A stunning Gothic-inspired castle in one of Miami's wealthiest and most sought after neighborhoods has made an imposing entry onto the market—with an asking price of $24 million.
The dramatic Coconut Grove property, which is described as a "fairytale" dwelling, boasts several regal embellishments, including stained-glass windows, enormous stone columns, and soaring cathedral ceilings that would make any owner feel like a royal.
Spread across an impressive 12,800 square feet, the home—which sits on a rare corner lot overlooking the water—was designed by renowned architect Ralph Portuondo and last sold for $10 million, just four years ago.
"A fairytale castle in Coconut Grove, designed by Ralph Portuondo, where Gothic grandeur meets modern sophistication," the listing, which is held by Lourdes Alatriste of Douglas Elliman, crows.
Known as Villa Rosa because of its pale pink exterior, the dwelling was custom built in 2009 for its original owners, who purchased the plum 0.27-acre plot nine years earlier for the relatively low sum of $750,000.

Upon entering the home, guests are met with a dramatic great hall, which features 30-foot vaulted ceilings and antique stained-glass windows.
The walls feature several arches that perfectly accentuate the open floor plan and show off the red stairs that lead to the second floor.
The living area boasts a large TV and plenty of space for entertaining. Around the home there are "French cast bronze chandeliers and Jerusalem stone floors," according to a press release shared with Realtor.com®.
Moving on to the chef's kitchen, there are marble countertops, a large island, and state-of-the-art appliances.
The master bedroom comes with a large walk-in closet that features wooden furnishings—making it the perfect place for royalty to get their glam on.
The numerous bathrooms in the property come with vintage wallpaper, marble countertops, and wooden touches to add to the home's vintage aesthetic.
Any buyers with a passion for wellness will no doubt be thrilled by the property's in-house massage center, while separate nanny quarters that boast their own private kitchen serve as an ideal residence for staff—or as an additional space in which to house guests.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the exterior of the home is just as impressive as its regal living spaces, featuring a keystone-edged infinity pool, cement dock, and rooftop sundeck.

And while a royal title isn't included in the sale, a future owner can take command of their own troops while partaking in a game of chess on the giant life-size board that occupies one of the rooftop spaces, creating a whimsical image even from above.
That chess board is one of just several outdoor living areas that can be found around the property—all of which offer spectacular views of the water and the Miami skyline.
The future owners can also get a look at the stunning view from one of the many balconies on the property, which perfectly show off the lush greenery, palm trees, and sparkling water.
According to the press release, the home was originally commissioned by Richard and Cristina Daniels, who sold the property in 2016 for $5.9 million, according to records.
The home, which was last bought via a trust in September 2021 for $10 million, is described as a "rare opportunity to own a true South Florida showpiece that’s as much art as it is home."
The property is the perfect residence for those who want access to Miami's bustling nightlife and are also looking for a serene escape.
Coconut Grove itself also boasts an impressive—and very starry—heritage, having been home to a host of A-listers over the years, with The Hollywood Reporter hailing it as "Miami's hot neighborhood of the moment" in 2023.
Over the years, several celebrities have bought and sold homes in the community, including Madonna, LeBron James, Derek Jeter, and Sylvester Stallone.
Villa Rosa is one of several Coconut Grove properties on the market with an asking price of more than $20 million—with one property listed for as much as $31 million.
