From Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding Venue Frenzy to Dave Portnoy’s Historic Mansion Grab: October’s Biggest Celebrity News Revealed

by Charlie Lankston

From spooky specters and trick-or-treating to apple picking and crisp autumn leaves, the month of October comes with plenty of perks.

But for Hollywood's most highly regarded stars, the fall season also presents a prime opportunity for some headline-grabbing real estate deals.

The past four weeks have seen a flurry of major A-list moves—beginning, of course, with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, whose engagement and impending wedding have dominated the news cycle for months.

After the happy couple revealed to the world that they are getting set to head to the altar, speculation has been rife about where, when, and how Swift and Kelce, both 35, will tie the knot, details that have been kept very much under wraps by the future Mr. and Mrs.

That speculation reached fever pitch in October, after rumors began to surface that the duo is planning to host their nuptials at an iconic Gilded Age mansion in Rhode Island called The Breakers.

Speaking of iconic mansions, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy found himself catapulted into the headlines after it was revealed that he had dropped a staggering $27.75 million on a record-breaking Florida "sanctuary" in Islamadora.

The 48-year-old, who already owned more than $95 million worth of real estate before his latest jaw-dropping buy, closed on the eight-bedroom, 9.5-bathroom abode at the start of the month, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Portnoy's newest abode sits on a 1.65-acre waterfront lot and spans 10,228 square feet.

This "rare offering in the heart of the Florida Keys" features "150 feet of private waterfront, dockage, boat ramp, private beach, two pools, and lush, mature tropical landscaping," the listing stated.

And as Portnoy picked up a new property in the U.S., George Clooney revealed that he and his wife, Amal, have high-tailed it out of the country and moved to France, where they are now raising their twins.

The 64-year-old actor, who shares 8-year-old twins Ella and Alexander with Amal, 47, revealed in a new interview with Esquire that the couple have chosen to live primarily on a farm in France to give their children a better quality of life.

“We live on a farm in France. A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid, I hated the whole idea of it. But now, for [the twins], it’s like, they’re not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grownups and have to take their dishes in," explained George, who spoke to the outlet from his villa on Lake Como in Italy.
