Dylan Dreyer Proudly Reveals First Christmas Tree After Ditching New York City for the Suburbs With Her Three Sons
"Today" show host Dylan Dreyer has put up a stunning Christmas tree inside her suburban home as she prepares to celebrate her first holiday season with her three boys since the family ditched their apartment in New York City to enjoy a quieter lifestyle.
Dreyer, 44, revealed in November that she had followed in the footsteps of fellow on-air hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager by quitting city life in favor of the suburbs, not long after announcing she had split from her husband, Brian Fichera.
At the time, she shared a glimpse into how she and her boys—Calvin, 9, Oliver, 5, and Rusty, 3—were settling into their new abode, while opening up about their first major holiday celebration there: Halloween.
Now, with Thanksgiving behind them, the family is embracing a new festive tradition inside the opulent property, by decking their halls and trimming their tree in a touching family milestone.
Dreyer took to Instagram to showcase the festive fern, which is situated in front of large French doors that open out to the patio area, and allow natural light to flood inside.

In the first image, the host's sons were seen placing baubles on the tree before flashing a smile to the camera.
In another image, Dreyer and her children were seen going through the Christmas decorations while sitting near their stone-adorned fireplace, which was covered in stockings.
Dreyer could be seen on a ladder placing the tree topper on their fully covered tree, which boasted personal ornaments.
In the last flick in the carousel of snaps, Dreyer showcased her finished tree, which was adorned in yellow lights.
She captioned the image, "Now it feels like Christmas!!"
There was no sign of Fichera in the images, which appear to have been taken at night, allowing the Christmas tree to truly shine in the darkness.
The holiday reveal comes after she broke her silence on her breakup for the first time Nov. 5, when she appeared as a co-host on "Today With Jenna & Friends."
Having been asked by Hager how life has been as a single woman, Dreyer took the opportunity to hit back at those who have criticized her separation, saying: "I appreciate everyone’s comments that have spoken up about my life and our decisions and what we have decided as a family, thank you for your opinions on that."
She went on to share some insight into how her relationship with her former spouse has evolved since their decision to end their marriage, insisting that they still have a very close bond, regardless of the fact that it is no longer romantic.

"Everybody has their reasons for what leads to a separation or divorce. That’s another story with a lot of wine and that’s a whole different thing, but either way we’ve gotten to this place,” she shared.
“And there’s something freeing, I think, for Brian and I where—whatever reasons, whatever broke in a marriage—you could either fix it if you can and ideally you would and you try, and you try to fix things. Or you accept that it’s broken and you take this new step forward."
Following the Halloween weekend, Dreyer revealed how she and her family celebrated the spooky holiday, explaining: "We moved out of the city so this is their first Halloween in the suburbs. This was their first suburban Halloween."
And it seems all three of her sons were eager to take advantage of their new community by not only trick or treating, but also handing out candy to their new neighbors.
"At 5:30 p.m. they were already tired, but then Rusty manned the door for two hours!" she shared while flashing up photos and videos of the kids enjoying their night.
Dreyer added that, despite many older kids approaching their front door, her youngest son stayed strong and refused to give out more than one piece of candy to each trick or treater, noting that Rusty seemed to relish the power of his new role.
"After dark, it's a lot of high school and older kids that come and he was handing out one piece of candy for each person and he kept looking over his shoulder. He loved it," she said.
The host previously teased their move on her Instagram by sharing images of her children posing for their first day of school outside of their suburban house, which is surrounded by lush greenery, and one image of the family having dinner while moving boxes sat near them.

The news of her move came just over a month after she managed to secure a buyer for her longtime New York City home—days after she and Fichera slashed half a million dollars from their asking price.
Dreyer and Fichera originally listed their marital abode, where they were raising their three sons, in November 2024 with an asking price of $2.49 million.
At the time, the couple made no comment about why they had made the decision to part ways with the property; however, Dreyer had previously said that they were starting to outgrow the space, leading some to believe that they were hoping to move into a bigger place.
Dreyer then stunned fans at the start of July when she announced that she and Fichera were going their separate ways after 13 years of marriage, revealing the news in an emotional statement shared on her Instagram account.
Interestingly, just a few days after announcing their split, they removed the listing for their two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit—before putting it back on the market at the reduced price of $1.99 million.
Dreyer and Fichera purchased the two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo in June 2016, according to property records, just a few months before they welcomed Calvin.
She and Fichera also own a stunning beach house in Point Lookout, NY, which was purchased in 2021 for $2.5 million.
