Cody Bellinger Re-Signs With the New York Yankees on a $162 Million Deal—Will He Sell His $9 Million Arizona Home?

Baseball pro Cody Bellinger has re-signed with the New York Yankees on a five-year, $162.5 million deal–so will he give up his newly purchased $9 million Arizona home?

According to ESPN, the former Los Angeles Dodgers player is returning to New York on a contract that includes an opt-out in the second and third years of the pact. It also came with a $20 million signing bonus and a no-trade clause.

The Arizona native drew attention this last season with the Yankees after garnering 25 doubles, 29 home runs, and 98 RBI in just over 150 games.

The two-time All-Star has several achievements under his belt, including a rookie of the year award in 2017 while playing with the Dodgers.

In 2019, he won the most valuable player award before helping the Dodgers get a win in the 2020 World Series.

From 2023 to 2024, Bellinger showcased his skills while playing for the Chicago Cubs, before moving to the Yankees.

The New York-based baseball team went 94-68 last season before being eliminated in the AL Division Series by the Toronto Blue Jays.

Now that Bellinger has solidified his roots in New York, will he give up his sprawling Phoenix home?

The baseball star snapped up the expansive abode in 2024 for $9 million.

The property comes complete with eight bedrooms and six bathrooms and sprawls across 7,173 square feet.

It was built in 2014 and features a four-car garage.

Upon entering the abode, guests are greeted with an expansive floor plan that is emphasized by the high ceilings.

The living room features a modern chandelier, a cozy fireplace, and light wooden floors.

Adjacent to the living area there is a chef's kitchen, which features a large marble island, plenty of cabinetry, a tile backsplash, and state-of-the-art appliances.

The property features two dining areas, one of which is slightly smaller and boasts black French doors that allow guests to easily access the backyard, while the other comes complete with a brick wall, wooden ceiling, and large dining table.

The master bedroom is the epitome of elegance thanks to its large, open space, chic fireplace, and reading nook.

There is also a sprawling walk-in closet complete with rustic cabinetry and bright overhead lighting.

Connected to the primary bedroom is the master bathroom, which features a double vanity, a soaking tub, and a marble glass-enclosed shower.

Although not as impressive, the other bedrooms still boast large spaces that hold queen-sized beds and other furnishings.

There is also a separate guesthouse complete with its own kitchen, living space, and office.
