‘Sister Wives’ Star Meri Says She Handed Over ‘Every Penny’ From Her Home Sale To Fund Kody and Robyn’s Arizona House

"Sister Wives" star Meri Brown has confessed that she gave up "every penny" from the sale of her Las Vegas home to her ex-husband, Kody Brown, so that he could purchase an Arizona house with wife Robyn.

In a recent episode of the TLC series, Meri lifted the lid on the details leading up to the purchase of Robyn and Kody's sprawling dwelling in Flagstaff, AZ.

Before relocating to Arizona, Kody's spouses, Meri, 55, Janelle, 56, Christine, 53, and Robyn, 47—resided in four homes on the same street in Las Vegas.

But, in 2018, the large brood decided to move to Flagstaff and snapped up a 14-acre property, which soon became known as Coyote Pass and was intended to house all of their 18 kids.

The choice to ditch Las Vegas caused tensions to boil over within the family, with Christine becoming the first to leave the plural marriage in 2021, followed by Meri and Janelle.

Now, months after the sale of Coyote Pass, Meri is setting the record straight on the events that took place before their move.

“This is something that I have consented to never talk about, but we’ll talk about it now,” she said.

She noted that she was the "only one" who resided in her Las Vegas abode a "majority of the time."

Meri emphasized that she made "all of the payments," however, when it was time to sell it, Kody got half of the proceeds because his name was on the property.

After the sale, she ended up lending her portion from the sale to Robyn and Kody to purchase a Flagstaff home.

“That was the loan that I gave to purchase Robyn's house. That’s that money," Meri said.

“Every penny of it,” Meri’s friend Jenn Sullivan added. 

Kody confirmed Meri's story earlier in the episode, noting that both she and Janelle had lent him money to purchase the Arizona home.

However, when they walked away from the marriage, they wanted their money back. Kody noted that he gave Janelle the money, but never reached an agreement with Meri.

“I just told Meri on the phone, ‘Hey, we’re going to take care of this.' We always intended to take care of it," he said.

The Brown family sold the Coyote Pass property in April 2025 for $1.5 million.

The plot was originally purchased for $820,000 in 2018, with Kody and all four of his partners at the time investing money in the property.

Originally, they had intended to divvy up the land, which is located near Kody's former home in Flagstaff, and then use it to build four homes—one for each of his then-wives and their respective children.

But that plan fell apart in 2021, when three of Kody's four so-called marriages began to fall apart, eventually resulting in the end of his relationships with Christine, Meri, and Janelle. Robyn, who was Kody's only legal spouse, remained by his side, however.

After Christine walked away from the five-way marriage, she sold her portion of the land back to Kody in a private deal that saw her giving up all of her rights to the property. However, Meri and Janelle continued to push for a return on their investment, sparking a furious fallout that led to them both threatening Kody with legal action.

Now, it seems as though that drama has finally come to an end with the 2025 sale of the property as first reported by The Sun.

Kody and Robyn owned 50% of the property, while Meri and Janelle each possessed 25%. It's unclear exactly how much of the money from the sale each individual got.

According to property records, one of the 2.42-acre plots, which was registered to Kody and Robyn's name, sold for an asking price of $305,000 on April 24, 2025.

Another 2.42-acre plot, which belonged to Meri and Janelle, where they shared a 50% interest each, sold for $305,000.

The third section of land, which measured 4.48 acres, sold for $400,000, while the last 5.19 acres was snapped up for $490,000.

Prior to the sale of the land, two areas of land were transferred from grantors Kody and Robyn to grantees Kody, Robyn, Janelle, and Meri, according to The Sun.

The third plot of land saw Kody and Janelle being listed as the grantors before it was transferred to Janelle and Meri.

The last parcel of land remained under Kody and Robyn's name.
